Special Sensory Tips at the State Fair!

The sparkle and sounds of SpinCity are exciting, but can be overwhelming at times. With this special day, we are creating a time where everyone can explore and enjoy. Come on down to enjoy our rides and games when lights, sounds, and non-safety related announcements will be reduced in SpinCity as much as possible. Below are tips and more information to prepare for your trip!

Outside Food, Drink, & Bag Policies: While visiting the State Fair, all bags must to be 9”x10”x12” or smaller. However, diaper bags or medical bags are allowed and may be subject to search. Any carry-in items for family care, such as sealed water bottles or snacks, or medical reasons will be permitted – no medical proof or note needed. If any items or medication need to stay cool, small soft sided coolers are permitted to come into the State Fair. Find more information here.

Sights & Sounds: While lights and sounds are turned down as much as possible during this morning, we’d recommend bringing noise-cancelling headphones or darkened eyeglasses if there is a high sensitivity. Please note that SpinCity’s usual lights and sounds will turn back on at 1pm on Monday.

Safety Identification Wristbands: Get a bright orange identification wristband, provided by We Energies. This wristband has space to write your child’s identification and your cell phone number in case anyone gets a little lost. Head to the Guest Services Pavilion near the Exposition Center or We Energies Energy Park to get yours.
