Check out the daily schedule below to see that demonstrations and activities are taking place at We Energies Energy Park on that specific day.

Pick up a safety wristband for your child daily from 10am–6pm. Visit Focus on Energy daily from 10am–4pm or Make a Solar Power Pollinator, in partnership with Discovery World, from 10am to 5pm.

Safety ID Wristbands for Children

• Get a bright orange wristband that holds your child’s identification and your cellphone number that State Fair Park police can use if your child gets lost at the State Fair.
• Daily: 10am-6pm

Focus on Energy

• Focus on Energy is Wisconsin’s statewide energy efficiency and renewable energy program. Visit their exhibit to have your energy-efficiency questions answered, pick up fun giveaways (for adults and kids), and ask about ordering a free package of energy-saving products if your utility participates in Focus on Energy.
• Daily: 10am-4pm

Solar Power Pollinators Scavenger Hunt

• Stop by the Solar Power Pollinators activity station, presented in partnership with Discovery World.
• Pick up a scavenger hunt card, explore Energy Park and build your very own Solar Power Pollinator. Choose your butterfly or bee, decorate it, then add your solar cell and vibrating motor. Learn about solar energy by creating a simple solar circuit. Once built, your Solar Power Pollinator will be energized by the sun.
• Daily: 10am-5pm

Melinda Myers, Horticulturalist

Join Melinda Myers as she presents three shows daily. Visit our beautiful gardens for ideas and inspiration to make gardening fun and easy.

• Attracting Hummingbirds
  • Create a garden filled with hummingbirds’ favorite flowers. Energy Park’s feature garden is filled with vibrant flowers you and the hummingbirds can enjoy. Melinda will discuss these plants and other strategies for attracting these pollinator beauties to your landscape.

• Garden Challenges
  • Don’t let garden pests take the fun out of gardening. Melinda will share tips for reducing plant damage, controlling weeds, and managing diseases while being kind to the environment. Learn about current problems and management strategies to help grow a healthy and beautiful garden.

• New Energy Park Garden Plants
  • Gardeners are always looking for new plants to add to containers, gardens, and landscapes. Join Melinda as she highlights new low-maintenance flowering shrubs added to Energy Park and shares some newer flower and vegetable varieties on display for you to see.

Schlitz Audubon Nature Center

• Raptor Meet and Greet (former name was Early Bird)
  • Meet a raptor up close and learn about its habits, habitat and history. This 15-minute meet and greet allows you to ask questions and talk with raptor experts about these magnificent hunters of the sky.
  • Daily: 10:15am
• Raptor Program and Flight Demonstration
  • Owls, falcons, eagles, oh my! In this family-friendly 30-minute program, see raptors up close, learn about their hunting skills, and hear about conservation efforts that help protect them.
  • Daily: 11:30am and 2:30pm

Wildlife of Wisconsin

• Meet reptiles, amphibians, a hawk and more in this 15-minute program about Wisconsin’s wildlife. Learn about each creature’s habitat, followed by hands-on interaction with a few of the animal ambassadors.

Cowabunga

• Meet and get your picture with a young heifer! Learn about all things dairy, agriculture in general, and how We Energies and farmers work together for you.

Energy Explorations 

• Explore electric and natural gas dangers – learn awareness and safety, experience emergencies and hazards. Live demons, hands-on activities, giveaways and photo ops!

Can You Dig It? 

• Keep you and your family safe with backyard projects – planting bushes, flowers and trees; building decks, gazebos and sheds; installing/replacing fences, mailboxes and more. Call Before You Dig!

National Theatre for Children

• Energy Endgame is a hilarious, action-packed adventure that teaches children about energy efficiency. Crash ReBoot need help figuring out who (or what!) is sabotaging the energy supply at GameCo, his game design company. Audience interaction, useful money-saving energy tips, and actor hijinks will all be found at Energy Endgame.
