Amateur Wine

Do you make wine for fun or as part of a hobby? Then enter your best bottles in the State Fair Amateur Vintner’s Competition!

This contest includes over 20 classes for Dry, Semi-Sweet, and Sweet Wines plus special classes for Novelty, Sparkling and Fortified Wines.

Important dates for this competition:

  • Entry Deadline: March 7, 2024 at 7 pm (Central Time)

  • Bottle Drop-Off Date: April 4, 2024 by end of business day (to locations listed in the entry information)

  • Judging: April 19 and 20, 2024

Entry Deadline:
March 7, 2024 at 7 pm (Central Time): Online entries close

When dropping off entries, each bottle should have an entry form label affixed to it with a rubber band. Labels will be emailed a few days after online entries close but no later than end of day March 15, 2024.
