Do you make wine for fun or as a hobby? Enter your best bottles in the State Fair Amateur Vintner’s Competition!

This contest includes over 20 classes for Dry, Semi-Sweet, and Sweet Wines plus special classes for Novelty, Sparkling and Fortified Wines.

Important dates for this competition:

  • Entry Deadline: February 18, 2026 at 7 pm (Central Time)

  • Bottle Drop-Off Date: March 20, 2026 by end of business day (to locations listed in the entry information)

  • Judging: March 27 and 28, 2026

Entry Deadline:
February 18, 2026 at 7 pm (Central Time): Online entries close

When dropping off entries, each bottle should have an entry form label affixed to it with a rubber band. Labels will be emailed approximately two weeks after online entries close but no later than end of day March 6, 2026.
