Cattle Barns
Over 1,100 dairy and 500 beef cattle are housed in four cattle barns during all eleven days of the Wisconsin State Fair.
The Upper Cattle Barns were built in 1974 and are three barn structures that are all one, continuous building.
The Lower Cattle Barn, built in 1907, is one of the oldest buildings at Wisconsin State Fair Park.
Located in Ag Village on Central Avenue. Find the Upper Cattle Barns on the north side of the Coliseum and the Lower Cattle Barn on the west side of the Coliseum.

Animal Schedule
Beef and dairy cattle will stay in the Upper and Lower Cattle Barns as follows:
Aug. 1-4, 9-11 | Dairy Cattle |
Aug. 5-11 | Beef Cattle |
Barns Closed | Aug. 4 close at 12pm, Aug. 8 close at 1pm, Aug. 11 close at 3pm |
The Upper & Lower Cattle Barns are open daily from 10am – 9pm, except where noted in the table above.
Special Exhibits
Check out the following experience agriculture exhibits located in the Lower Cattle Barn:
Camp of Champions (Aug. 9-11 only)
Starting Friday, August 9, stop by the south end of the Lower Cattle Barn to see the Camp of Champions. This exhibit features all of the Grand Champion Drive winners auctioned off in the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction held on Wednesday, August 7.
Dairy Lane
Fairgoers of all ages will enjoy and learn about Wisconsin’s vibrant dairy industry with these educational and interactive exhibits located in the heart of Ag Village.
Where are the Cattle Barns?
The Upper Cattle Barns are located in Ag Village with entrances on Central Avenue, Grandstand Avenue, and the pathway between the Upper Cattle Barns and the Coliseum.
The Lower Cattle Barn is located Ag Village with entrances on Central Avenue, Wetley Way, Third Street, and the thoroughfare on the north side of the building.
