Barn Closures

Each year thousands of animals are exhibited at Wisconsin State Fair, and most of these animals do not stay for the entire 11-day run of the Fair. For the safety of the animals, exhibitors and Fairgoers, barns must be closed to allow animals to leave and the barns to be cleaned for the arrival of new animals and exhibitors. On the main animal changeover days (Sunday, Aug. 6, Tuesday, Aug. 8, Thursday, Aug. 10 Friday, Aug. 11 and Sunday, Aug. 13), certain streets in Ag Village will be closed down or have limited access. Please see below for a map of restricted areas as well as the barn closure schedule. Fairgoers looking to exit through Gate 5 can follow the Pink Pony signs to get to Gate 5 during times of restricted access. For everyone’s safety, access through barns may be limited before and during livestock shows as animals are being prepared for the showring.
