Milwaukee Miles 250 Weekend Policies
For the safety and awareness of the general public, Wisconsin State Fair Park has put in place a number of event policies. Below are the event policies for the Wisconsin State Fair, including prohibited items, policies on pets, smoking, and more.
State Fair Park staff reserves the right to refuse admission or eject any person violating any law, rule, or policy.
Persons entering the facility assume all risks incidental to the event.

General/All Visitors Policies
- Compliance with all laws and regulations
- Visitors to State Fair Park and the Milwaukee Mile must obey all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Code of Conduct
- State Fair Park and the Milwaukee Mile are committed to providing a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone. We ask all guests to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner that does not interfere with the enjoyment of others. All guests are required to refrain from the following:
- Behavior that is unruly, disruptive or illegal in nature
- Failure to follow instructions of State Fair Park Police and staff, or any other law enforcement agency on-site.
- Foul or abusive language or obscene gestures
- Intoxication or other signs of impairment that results in offensive and/or irresponsible behavior
- Bringing prohibited items into State Fair Park (scroll down for full list)
- Attempting to enter any restricted building or area without authorization
- Verbal or physical harassment of patrons, participants or staff
- Smoking in prohibited areas
- Interference of disruption of the event
- Terms and Conditions
- Participation in and/or observation of events at State Fair Park/Milwaukee Mile Speedway is at your own risk and comes with responsibilities. All persons who enter the premises agree to the following terms.
- All persons attending the event assume all risk incident to the event, whether occurring prior to, during or subsequent to the actual conduct of the event. By entering the premises, you HEREBY RELEASE all event participants, sanctioning bodies, INDYCAR, LLC, (“INDYCAR”), the State of Wisconsin, and their officers, directors, members, owners, successors, assigns, agents, employees, representatives, and affiliates from any and all claims arising from the event, including claims of negligence of released parties.
- State Fair Park/Milwaukee Mile and its affiliates assume no liability and by entering the premises release the State Fair Board, State of Wisconsin, sanctioning bodies, sponsors, and their respective affiliates and all event participants for loss or damage (including without limitation property damage, injury, illness, and death) by fire, theft, weather, communicable disease, or otherwise to guests, personal property and vehicles while on the property including if caused by the negligence of released parties.
- Patrons grant State Fair Park, INDYCAR, and designees the right to use their image and/or likeness in any live or recorded video display or other transmission or reproduction of the event, including without limitation my rights of publicity. All rights to broadcast, record, photograph, repeat, reproduce, or recreate the event are reserved by INDYCAR.
- State Fair Park and the Milwaukee Mile are committed to providing a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone. We ask all guests to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner that does not interfere with the enjoyment of others. All guests are required to refrain from the following:
- Tickets/Refunds
- No refunds, replacement tickets, and/or other event admission materials or to payments for any damages of any kind for any reason will be issued from the State of Wisconsin, INDYCAR or designees, including without limitation cancellation, shortening, or other alteration of the event.
- Search and Screening
- All patrons and possessions are subject to search and will pass through metal detection upon entering the State Fair Park. Any prohibited items will be confiscated by Public Safety and will not be returned.
- Bag Size Restriction
- ALL bags (clear, backpacks, purses, totes, etc.) must be 9” x 10” x 12” or smaller and are subject to search prior to entering State Fair Park. Larger bags will NOT be permitted unless they are for family care/diaper bags or medical reasons. They may be returned to a vehicle prior to entering a gate. Lockers are not available for those who arrive with oversized bags. Empty reusable bottles, cups, and souvenir cups will be permitted. Any carry-in items for family care, such as water or snacks for children, or medical reasons will be permitted.
- Prohibited Items
- Illegal drugs or substances and paraphernalia
- Firearms, knives, and all other weapons or objects that could be used as weapons
- Pepper spray, mace and tasers
- Fireworks, flares, sparklers, firecrackers, bottle rockets or explosives
- Flammable or combustible materials except small lighters
- Any bags over 9” x 10” x 12” (including clear)
- Hard-sided coolers
- Camelback style hydration packs
- Large stick umbrellas or golf umbrellas
- Picnic baskets
- Outside food and beverages (unless needed for infants or dietary needs)
- Glass or ceramic containers
- Aerosol cans (with the exception of spray sunscreens)
- Carry-in alcohol of any kind
- UAV – drones
- Pets (except service animals)
- Selfie sticks, tripods and monopods of any kind
- Signs, banners or flags on poles
- Offensive or obscene materials (flags, clothing, etc.)
- Laser pointers
- Lawn chairs, folding chairs or stadium seats
- Strollers and wagons (only allowed in Free Fan Zone)
- Tents, Canopies and tables
- Scaffolding and ladders
- Skateboards, hoverboards, roller skates, or inline skates
- Foot powered or electric scooters
- Bicycles, tricycles, or unicycles
- Hula hoops, noise makers, horns, balloons
- Frisbees, beach balls or any other projectiles
- Professional grade cameras and video equipment (Please note: Cameras are allowed for personal use only and must fit inside your bag. No photography for commercial or media use is allowed without proper media credentials.)
- Golf Carts, ATVs, UTVs, ATCs, Electric Bicycles for personal use during event
- Printed materials, stickers or promotional materials/items without written approval.
- Concealed Identity
- Persons entering State Fair Park are prohibited from wearing any mask, gaiter, hood, or other device whereby a substantial portion of the face is hidden or covered WITH THE INTENT TO CONCEAL THE IDENTITY OF THE WEARER. This policy shall not apply to persons wearing a mask or other device for medical reasons; persons engaged in professions, trades, or employment in which wearing protective masks are deemed necessary for the physical safety of the wearer; persons engaged in a legitimate theatrical production; persons wearing a covering for religious practices; or a declaration by the Governor that recommends face coverings in response to a public health emergency.
- Smoking
- Smoking is not allowed in any building or within 20 feet of a building or designated seating area, including the Milwaukee Mile Grandstands.
- Re-entry
- Handstamps will be available for re-entry to the race event and the Free Fan Zone. State Fair Park staff reserves the right to search and screen all patrons re-entering the event. Re-entry is NOT allowed in any State Fair Park parking lots. For more information on parking click HERE.
- Youth Admission Policy
- Patrons seventeen (17) years of age and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (age 21+) to enter State Fair Park and/or the Milwaukee Mile beginning at 6pm. Each parent or guardian may only chaperone up to six (6) minors.
- State Fair Park/Milwaukee Mile staff reserves the right to request a VALID PHOTO ID with proof of age from any adult chaperoning minors once the Youth Admission Policy is in place. Adult chaperones MUST remain at State Fair Park/Milwaukee Mile at all times when Youth Admission Policy is in place.
- State Fair Park staff reserves the right to remove any unaccompanied minors from State Fair Park/Milwaukee Mile when Youth Admission Policy is in place. The State Fair Park CEO and the Chief of Police reserve the right to enact changes to this policy at any time.
Camping/Infield/Garage Policies
State Fair Park/Milwaukee Mile guests in all parking and camping areas must follow additional PARKING and CAMPING policies. Guests who have purchased Garage Passes must follow additional GARAGE PASS policies.
