Barn quilts were originally conceived as a way to encourage economic development by promoting ag-tourism in rural areas of Wisconsin. This year’s winning quilt will be displayed on the Cattle Barn north of the Case IH Coliseum. Look for other beautiful barn quilts on the Compeer Financial Discovery Barnyard, the Sheep & Goat Barn and the Swine & Goat Barn.

We will have a large number of openings throughout various departments that will work leading up to and during the State Fair. This year’s Wisconsin State Fair runs from August 3 – August 13, and employees will be required to work all 11 days.
North America’s largest traveling Ferris wheel will make its Wisconsin debut at the 2017 Wisconsin State Fair, Thursday, Aug. 3 – Sunday, Aug. 13. Located on the west side of State Fair Park, where the West Side Marketplace previously stood, the WonderFair Wheel pres. by Meijer features 36 fully enclosed, brightly colored gondolas. Each gondola has a capacity of six people, and one gondola offers accessible seating. The ride time from start to finish is approx. 10 minutes, and an average of 1,100 fairgoers can ride each hour. Rides cost $5 per person.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 4 AT 8 PM - Grammy award winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee John Mellencamp will bring his setlist rock 'n roll classics to the State Fair Main Stage. Known for hits like "Jack & Diane," "Pink Houses" and "Hurts So Good," John Mellencamp has been entertaining audiences with his distinct voice and raw-edged persona for nearly four decades. Carlene Carter will open the 8 p.m. show, and tickets are on sale now.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 5 AT 8 PM - Multi-platinum country superstar Kip Moore will rock the Main Stage with Maggie Rose. His 2015 album, Wild Ones, produced hits like “I’m to Blame” and “Running for You,” following the successful Up All Night, which gave fans “Beer Money” and “Somethin’ Bout a Truck.” Tickets are on sale now.
MONDAY, AUGUST 7 AT 7:30PM - Christian-pop duo for KING & COUNTRY will rock the Main Stage on Monday, August 7 at 7:30 pm. Comprised of brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone, the two-time Grammy-winning band is known for hits like “Busted Heart (Hold On To Me)” and “The Proof of Your Love.” Joining the group will be Grammy-nominated Christian-pop artist Britt Nicole, known for singles like “Gold” and “Ready or Not.”
TUESDAY, AUGUST 8 AT 7:30 PM - 3 time Grammy-winning a cappella group Pentatonix will bring a new beat the Fair. After winning NBC’s a competition, The Sing-Off, in 2011, the group soared to stardom, and has since sold over 5.8 million albums in the U.S. alone. Known initially for covers of popular and classic songs alike, Pentatonix transitioned to original music with the release of the 2015 self-titled album.
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 9 AT 7 PM - The party continues! State Fair is throwing it back to the ‘90s once again with the return of the I Love the 90’s Tour! This star-studded tour will feature a brand new lineup of artists on Wednesday, August 9 at 7 pm. Best known for his chart-topping hit “Ice Ice Baby,” rap superstar Vanilla Ice will headline the show, and will be joined by Kid ‘n Play, All-4-One, Tone Loc and Young MC.
